COMPASSION SEEDS, Inc

Lucky Dogs!

Soon many little rescued doggies will be bound for Arizona, where everyone is busy preparing for their arrival. Those that are staying here with us are Monika, a F chocolate Lab, Dixie, a F yellow Lab, Copper, a medium size, short haired, sweet "Who knows what" dog and a mixed German Shepherd. There is also a Great Pyrenees Pup, who was found lying in a ditch, unable to walk and in much pain. It turned out that he had a severe bladder infection. It took about 7 days at the hospital tor "Noah to get well and he is now shacking up with "Bruno", the old Saint Bernard who is very happy to have finally found a companion as gentle as he is himself.

A different kind of Organization

I often wish that we could get more help, as other organizations do, but instead, we give help to almost everyone who comes to our place. Such as helping others with food, medicine and first aid for injured or sick animals. Often pet owners are turned away by veterinarians, because they do not have the money to pay up front for a sick or injured animal. This is a dilemma that was created by dishonest people and Veterinarians must make a living for their families and cannot always work for nothing.

When people bring them here, we call the veterinarian and promise to pay, in case the owner will fail to do so. Not once were we reimbursed. Not once did we receive a "thank you" and the only gratitude we get is the knowledge that we stopped the suffering or certain death of an animal. Each time we tell ourselves that we must stop this practice, but then we have to remind ourselves that we are not here to make money or to make a name for ourselves, but to save lives. Thanks to people that care, thanks to those that donate food and make donations to do spay and neuters, we can make a difference for many creatures, great and small.
